Healthcare buildings are one of the most important pillars of the social state concept, not only in our country but also worldwide. Public healthcare facilities built with state resources and taxpayers’ contributions are therefore a special field of work for our company. Since 1953, our company has specialized in insulation and continuously supports all kinds of developments in this field. Our sensitivity toward public buildings has always remained a consistent corporate principle. Contributing to national value is, for me as the third generation, the most important legacy entrusted to me.
Within this perspective, we have demonstrated the same level of care in two of Azerbaijan’s most important projects. As we have long emphasized, the service life of structures is determined by the lifespan of their insulation systems. Especially waterproofing is a highly sensitive balance. Services delivered with the right product, correct detailing, and the right team add value to national assets. Under my leadership, all my colleagues know that we do not engage in any application that we are not fully convinced about, even if it involves financial sacrifice.
In recent years, many healthcare facilities have been built in our country. These structures require exceptional attention to detail compared to other investments. Areas requiring variable temperatures, laboratories, load distribution differences, and large circulation zones must all be integrated within a single system. For this reason, in both projects we were involved in, we carried out highly precise detailing processes. During the design phase, we worked closely with the expert team of YDA Construction, combining all our knowledge and experience. Material selection was based not on price-performance balance, but purely on performance criteria. We proceeded in line with foundation ratios and structural calculations, while also making dynamic revisions when necessary through our engineering approach.
Throughout all insulation works, weather conditions were continuously monitored and the work plan was managed dynamically. In addition, groundwater levels and soil moisture balance—critical factors in waterproofing—were constantly checked. This strict site supervision significantly improved the quality of execution.
The construction industry is not a field that can be developed solely through architectural knowledge. Just as architecture is an ancient profession, engineering—responsible for technological and industrial adlənkərancement—is equally important and established. With this understanding, our team closely follows developments in the construction industry and fully integrates technological innovations, particularly in terrace insulation applications.
Our sensitivity to innovation also enables us to quickly adapt to regulations. For example, in the Lənkəran City Hospital project, we became the first company in the sector to carry out implementation in accordance with the updated parking regulations. The Mingəçevir City Hospital project was awarded in four different categories, including “Best Ongoing Healthcare Campus,” thanks to the coordinated effort of all disciplines and teams working with the same level of precision.
In both Mingəçevir and Lənkəran PPP projects, we selected products based on quality and performance criteria. The main waterproofing system in both projects consisted of membranes used in foundations, retaining walls, and terraces, while cement-based materials were used in wet areas and technical spaces, as well as water tanks. Staying true to our principle of working with industry-leading companies, we collaborated with global brands in both projects.
For Mingəçevir City Hospital Campus, we worked with İzocam in thermal insulation and ODE and Dörken in waterproofing. For Lənkəran City Hospital Campus, we again worked with İzocam for thermal insulation and ODE, Dörken, and MAPEI for waterproofing systems. In these major hospitals with capacities of 1,250 and 1,607 beds respectively, we paid exceptional attention to the waterproofing and thermal insulation of sterile areas. In such environments, correct product selection must be combined with precise workmanship. No matter how high the product quality is, poor workmanship can render these public service buildings ineffective.
In all structures, moisture and water are the greatest enemies; however, in healthcare facilities, which serve the most essential needs of society, this responsibility becomes even more critical. What distinguishes healthcare buildings from other structures is the complexity and integration of their details. These buildings contain “details within details.” To ensure that so many components work together like an orchestra, we must act as skilled conductors. Therefore, we believe that providing highly detailed engineering services in such complex projects extends the lifespan of the building, and we operate according to this principle.
Today, when we look at the operational status and scale of these projects, we take pride in our mastery of even the smallest details. The honor of contributing to national assets has become the greatest return we could achieve. After these two important projects that added value to our 70 years of experience, we have become—and continue to be—a preferred name in healthcare buildings both in Azərbaycan and abroad.
